2019 Coolest Mile on Main

Race starts at Sykesville Middle School with a lap around the fields – then a fast downhill to end on Main Street in the Coolest Small Town in America!

Refreshments at the end of the race.

Heat 1 Timed – Suggested for those able to run 10 min/mile or faster 11 years and over.
This is a fast paced race – especially at the front – so younger and slower participants should line up towards the back

Heat 2 Untimed – 10 and under and those slower than a 10 min mile. This race is neither timed or scored.

Race starts with Heat 1 at 8:00 AM followed by Heat 2 at 8:10 AM.

Parking available in downtown Sykesville and at the Middle School.

Springfield Ave and Main Street will be closed @ 8 AM.

Please allow yourself ample time to get parked and to the race start at Sykesville Middle School.

Packet Pickup:

June 29th: 11 am-5 pm at Tri Sport Junction and
June 30th: 7 am-7:45 am at the start of the race at Sykesville Middle School.

There will be No Race Day Registration.

The start line is 1 mile from packet pick up so please allow yourself enough time to get to the start line.

Let Freedom Ring Parade @ Sykesville Main Street

The second edition of the “Let Freedom Ring Parade will start at 3:30 pm on Sunday June 30th at Sykesville Middle School and route the length of Historic Main Street. Marching bands, old cars, floats, and other patriotic elements are expected on Main Street for the enjoyment of the whole family.
We hope to see you there to cheer for the participants and enjoy a small town 4th of July celebration together.
