During this time of separation and feeling alone we wanted to launch a project that would help to bring us all together, and what better way than by dancing silly! Submit your 30-60 second videos of you dancing to Can’t Stop The Feeling by Justin Timberlake to our email ( and to be entered.

Competitions will be done in four categories – Ages 0-11; Ages 12-21; Ages 21+; and Group (2-8 people- no more than 8). Submissions are accepted Saturday 8 am- Thursday at 4pm each week. We will have a viewing party Friday at 6 where our judges will reveal the winner for each category that week!!

Cellphone/Smartphone video is allowed and encouraged!! Bring your creativity and make sure to have fun!! We can’t wait to see all of the videos you submit!!

Rules and Regulations:
Competition Rules:
The competition rules are designed to be as easy and as fair as possible providing consistent criteria for our judges and maximum fun for our teams.
The contestant will submit video into the individual (1 dancer) or group (no larger than 8 dancers) category specifying in the title what group they are submitting in
Your dance should be between 29-59seconds long.
Cellphone videos are accepted.
Formats can be avi, wmv, mov, mp4.
Videos need to be labeled [week of submission][category/age group][name]
Videos (or link) need to email to the DSC addresses ( and ) by Thursday at 4 PM.
Judging will occur based on the criteria described below.

Any style of dance is permitted.
No explicit or inappropriate moves will not be tolerated.

Winners for 0-11, 12-21, 21(+) and Group category will be selected by a panel of 5 judges for each of the categories, every week for 4 weeks for a total of 4 weekly winners.
On week 5, a virtual party will be hosted for the weekly winners to compete against each other for the grand finale.
Winners’ videos will be available on social media platforms and websites.
Weekly prizes will be awarded equal to $25 for each winner, limit one per person.
Grand Finale Winner will be awarded a $500 shopping spree in downtown Sykesville.

The Coolest Golf Tournament @ Links at Challendon

The Downtown Sykesville Connection (DSC) strives to diversify its programs and engage new volunteers.
With Leslie George-Rowe and Denise Rowe recently joining the DSC team and sharing Denise’s sister’s story, it just made sense to work together to create the “Coolest Golf Tournament” that will support the DSC’s community work and raise funds to fight Aplastic Anemia, in loving memory of Donna Carol Box.

We are excited to partner with new groups to make this event a success!

Mail-in your registration (Coolest Golf Brochure 2020) before July 7, 2020, to enjoy our early bird rate!

This new event will bring golf aficionados and beginners to the beautiful Links@ Challendon course in Mt Airy, for a day of fun, prizes, a $25,000 hole, other special hole-in-one contests on August 7, 2020, starting at 9 am.

10th Annual Art & Wine Festival @ Sykesville main street

Sykesville Art & Wine Festival, on Saturday September 12, 12 to 5pm

The Downtown Sykesville Connection (DSC) decided to add to the 8 weeks confinement period implemented by the CDC to reschedule its events as a celebration of the end of confinement and commemoration of the importance of togetherness. We hope that you join us in reclaiming our Main Street, our freedom to come and go, for a giant “cheers to community” with domestic and foreign reds, whites, rosés, sangrias, wines, cavas and other specialty wines that will be available for unlimited sampling with your collectible Sykesville glass.

Pre-sale tickets are available for purchase now for $35!

Tickets will be available at the door on the event day for $40.

The 2020 wine sampling is as exciting and diverse as our live entertainment, local artists, and food trucks display! Three different music venues, street performers and tons of local artists will await you in downtown Sykesville.  The event also showcases the local business community, embodying an atmosphere of old-fashioned, historic, small-town charm.
